SkiBound - Area Hotels Supervisor

Based in the French Alps. Seasonal Contract from November 2010 until April 2011

Part of the TUI Travel Group, SkiBound is a tour operator which has been specialising in school and adult group travel for over 25 years. As well as our locally run hotels, SkiBound operate ClubHotels which are exclusive properties run by British staff.

Our ClubHotels offer a relaxed and social atmosphere to ensure that groups receive a friendly, fun, value for money holiday. The ClubHotels are situated in various resorts across the French Alps. All our resorts offer something different, from traditional French charm to lively and well established.

The role of Area Hotels Supervisor is to assist in the set up, day to day running and close down of the French SkiBound ClubHotels program, achieving a high level of customer satisfaction and profitability.
Reporting to the Area Manager you will visit all units regularly supporting them in achieving their objectives and targets.

What You'll Be Doing
Financial:

  • Achieve personal and program financial objectives through income revenue generation and expenditure control
  • Ensure hotels run with minimum cost
  • Direct running of hotel bar and food operations - develop new ideas, encourage promotions and deliver GP
  • Ensure that operations income revenues are maximized and that prepaid expenditure is closely controlled and accurately reported
  • Develop and report any other income generation ideas
  • Assist with relevant purchases

    Systems:
  • Monitor and control all hotel financial expenditure, paperwork and monies. To include observation of safe monies handling and banking
  • Ensure operations staff are maintaining good practices in financial control and monies reporting Ensure hotel set up is achieved at the beginning of season
  • Monitor and assist with hotel fire security and HACCP control
  • Monitor and collect all hotels end of month paperwork, delivering to the Area Manager by set deadline
  • Carry out hotel audits in co-operation with Area Manager
  • Sign off all hotel receipts and invoices ensuring that they area appropriate and accurate
  • Assist with management of Ski Bound vehicles and drivers - expenses timetable, audits etc

    Customer Service:
  • Achieve CFQ targets and schools questionnaire targets.
  • Ensure the food operation is correctly delivered in line with Ski Bound menus and practices. Monitor and advise hotel kitchen staff and management on their progress in delivering the food operation and how to improve quality if needed
  • Ensure systems are in place to deliver excellent customer service Promote the company and program
  • Deliver ideas on how to better improve the program within budget constraints

    HR
  • Participate and deliver training course at season start
  • Monitor and report on staff moral
  • Deliver staff PDR / PDP appraisals in accordance with Area Manager
  • Assist/support with ClubHotel HR related issues.
  • Offer advice in hotel management systems and style to each of your management teams
  • Assist with both UK and local recruitment and training
  • Carry out interviews, move forward, develop staff showing the skills for future promotions to more senior roles within Ski Bound and TUI Travel PLC
  • Assist with shortfalls in management where needed
  • Take on, audit, hand back staff accommodation in view of keeping costs to a minimum
  • Assist with staff transport

    Suppliers:
  • Liaise with ski school and lift pass companies as necessary
  • Liaise with all suppliers as problems arise or in view of developing the product and achieving budget control
  • Monitor coach companies and the service they deliver

    Operations:
  • Assist with Airport duties
  • In co-ordination with Area Manager liaise with UK for group information and prepare for group arrival with hotel co-operation
  • Take responsibility for ski operation with Area Manager
  • Audit ski rooms
  • Promote operations sales
  • Create standard prices schedule across program for upgrades and sales
  • Produce stock figures for weekly monitoring and to develop ski purchases
  • Monitor and advise the Ski Bound Representatives

    Personal:
  • Develop sales ideas i.e. internet, clothing
  • Liaise with and visit party leaders.
  • Report to Area Manager regularly any issues occurring across the program
  • Monitor hotel catering operation by attending one breakfast and one evening meal per week in one of your ClubHotels.
  • Manage your own vehicle and expenses producing expenses
  • Produce end of season report for your role and reports for key staff, including business report per unit and PDR's
  • Actively seek summer business to progress our ClubHotel summer program
